Catalyzing mass collaboration for a sustainable world
The Global Summit impact doesn't stop when participants go home. In delivering a collaborative, multi-sector model of community engagement, a sustainable funding system promoting best practices in sustainable education, The Global Summit unites 6 diverse public, private, and civil society sectors in synergistic collaboration, fuelling locally-led solutions 365 days a year.
1. Empower underrepresented voices be heard in shaping the global policies and local solutions to the issues that affect them most through a citizen input driven, global solution making system applying advances in conflict mediation and information technology for transparent, equitable and measurable results.
2. Reduce duplication & increase collective social, economic and environmental impact through a global partnership network supporting local programs achieving the Millennium Development Goals & The Earth Charter.
3. Catalyze immediate climate change solutions & sustainable economic development via multi-sector transfer of green, clean and grass-roots friendly technologies via efficiency based awards and exposure of what works, investment forums and education promoting the Kyoto Protocol/Copenhagen targets.
Guided and unified by local needs, The Global Summit™ philanthropy system mirrors that of Empowerment Works: leveraging donor resources by linking "Synergy Grants" to participating organizations and private partners receiving best practices education in Sustainability.
*SYNERGY FUND = EDUCATION FOR COLLABORATION. Participants taking 4 or more workshops throughout the Summit (to be offered FREE online) will meet the basic 7SS education requirement to be eligible for Synergy Grants, which a majority of The Global Summit II proceeds support. By utilizing the 7 Stages to Sustainability framework to connect and deliver best practices (and to share emerging breakthroughs), TGS philanthropy system ensures delivery of critical resources in uncertain economic times, eliminates duplication of efforts, allows partners to advance their unique goals while increasing the impact of the whole, and address systemic problems from the ground up.
Partners In Empowerment (PIE) & 1PIE Portal - United in Action for a Sustainable World
Through its events, The Global Summit creates a membership community called Partners In Empowerment™ (PIE). This community stays connected throughout the year through an online collaboration portal called 1PIE (launching Fall 2010).
The following social and economic sectors are the foundation of the 1PIE global network:

1. Local action calendars with cultural arts events, educational workshops, sustainable business promotions and publications;
2. Critical Mass Campaigns (Policy, Action & Public Awareness) enabling groups with common goals to raise our collective voices for greater impact / public awareness;
3. Online Eco-Mall generating resources for community-based initiatives;
4. Appropriate technology database supporting transfer to local program areas & partners;
5. Program collaboration tools supporting locally identified goals and needs;
6. Local needs assessments using universal program indicators to facilitate partner collaboration in program areas to reduce duplication and increase collective impact;
7. The Global Sustainability Index - an evaluation tool and success showcase. The index will measure progress and specific actions related to face-to-face commitments made by participants in Global Citizens Solution Councils.
Implementation Strategy & Evaluation
From 2008-2020, Empowerment Works is dedicated to serving as a catalyst for collaboration of highly qualified partners to take part in The Global Summit’s successful implementation. At this point, The Global Summit will have built a new consent based, global solution making system and transformed the face of international development from top down to mutually-supportive empowerment.
Through 12 years of monitoring progress of consent based commitments and real world impacts, TGS will contribute vital information on multi-sector collaboration, civil society based governance and direct democracy – also known as Sociocracy.
By the end of 2020 The Global Summit will have fuelled the full development of a new measurable, community leveraged, funding system "Synergy Funds/ Grants". Harnessing collective genius and delivering to where its needed most will be a new education system promoting ongoing, locally-led global social and economic partnership system united / supported by "1PIE.org".
What The Global Summit evolves into at the end of its initial project cycle 2020 will be determined by evaluation findings of what works best.
The Global Summit’s evaluation system measures:
- # of TGS born innovations developed into sustainable businesses, # of new partnerships, # of approved technologies receiving investment / expanding markets to scale up, as a direct result of participation
